Dave's Hot Chicken

There are so many places now for chicken sandwiches and chicken tenders , it's hard to try them all. I finally made it in here a couple days ago and made a short YouTube video of it. I was surprised that they didn't have a chicken sandwich , but sliders and of course tenders. It is a Nashville Hot style chicken with different levels of heat. I noticed when I pulled in that the drive thru was a little long , so it must be doing good business. It's in a good location so I can see that. I ordered a chicken slider medium , chicken tender hot , fries , and a drink. The dining room was about half full so I was able to find a decent table. It could have been wiped down a little better. Anyway, I had a little wait , but that is to be expected since this is not fast food. The place was pretty bright inside with white walls and lots of colors to stick out. I really liked the chicken as Elvis in Jailhouse Rock. Now to the food. The chicken slider had coleslaw and sauce on it. I think it could have used more slaw. The sauce really didn't stand out either and was a little light. I realized they didn't give me any sauce on the side which most places do for the chicken tender and fries. I went up to the counter and the lady who was nice , gave me two packets of sauce. The sauce is orange like Big Mac sauce , but not much flavor. I go to another local Nashville Hot Chicken place and their sauce will knock your socks off. I got my slider medium and it tasted alright , I've had better. The chicken tender hot was not really good. I like hot , but it just seemed like they poured way too much dry rub on it and it was hotter than the medium , but just didn't taste good. My normal place it's a little hotter and taste way better. The fries were just okay too. I was hoping this place would be better or on the same level as my usual place since it is closer to where I live , but nope. I'm not going to name the other place , because I don't think that is appropriate. My son and daughter in law ate here a couple weeks ago and they said the same thing , they like our other places a lot better. I do wish you much success and as I said , it did seem to be busy there.

I've only been here a handful of times as I'm not usually much of a spicy food eater. Pros: large chicken tenders, pickles go perfectly with the spiciness, I love their flavorful crinkle fries, each time I have gone, the drive-thru crew has always been very kind when taking my order and very friendly when handing me my order with a smile. Cons (sorta): it's pricey, but not really because it takes me 2 days to finish eating my 2-piece, the lines are long, but it's OK as the food is made to order, I don't like the flavor of the slaw, but since it's kale-slaw I deal with it for the nutrition, and Mac n cheese wasn't the greatest, either. I tried it once when when they 1st opened and haven't had it since.

Decided to finally give this place a try. Came here the other day and the woman taking our order was sweet she told us about if we scanned the QR code on our receipt we could receive a drink. So we did…they do not give any confirmation code at end of survey and when I to ask the girl said “oh you just need to show the end of survey. I wished I had know before because I clicked out of it! And I did not receive a confirmation email from Dave’s Hot Chicken until later that afternoon. 😕 So they have lost a star! Location on West Sahara Ave. What we order: 2 sliders one hot one mild hot with fries. Chicken was tasty and moist fries were ok. 1 chicken slider mild with Mac & cheese. Mac & cheese was ok but the slider was good. Serves was quick and friendly.
